What's the Gabinete de Iniciativa Joven
Iniciativa Joven is the organ created by the Regional Government of Extremadura, from the Department of Youth and Sport, to drive a new development model for the region, based on the ability of young entrepreneurs to imagine, create and innovate.
What do we do?
We have two fundamental lines of action:
- Culture of creative enterprise. We promote the culture of creative enterprise in young people in particular and in society in general, through the development of new methodologies and the creation of environments that foster the exchange of ideas, creativity, cooperation, imagination, entrepreneurial leadership, etc. Our intervention also includes the sphere of education, as we endeavour to be present throughout people’s educational journey to promote their initiative.
- Support young entrepreneurs to create reference models. We work with entrepreneurs in order to put their ideas into action in Extremadura. We support them with project design, learning experiences aimed at stimulating their creativity, contacts that could produce synergies and sources of funding. We support business, social and cultural projects that will be a reality in the medium term.
Our objectives are:
- To promote enterprising culture, creativity and the Society of the Imagination through formal and informal educational experiences.
- To support the creation of young people’s projects in Extremadura through technical advice, knowledge, contact networks and searching for sources of funding.
- To design and experiment with creative methodologies from and for the public administration.
Quality certification
At the Gabinete de Iniciativa Joven our objective is to carry out our activities with the highest level of quality, continuously trying to improve our services and the efficiency of our processes.
In keeping with this aim we have UNE-EN ISO 9001:2000 standard certification.
Location
Our field of action is Extremadura. We work for this region but with a vision open to the whole world, inviting everyone to build a plural and creative Extremadura, a place where our ideas can be turned into new realities.
Building the Society of the Imagination
We propose a new way of seeing and doing things, where imagination and creativity are the engines of the social dynamic. In order to achieve this we are committed to the talent of young people and their ability to create new ideas and imagine the Extremadura of tomorrow.
Recognitions
Since our creation in 2004 we have faithfully believed in what we do and that imagination, creativity and innovation are one of the best resources for the development of our region. This effort has been recognized by various awards:
- Special Award “Design Management Europe Award” (DME Award).
- Ricardo Marín International Award.
- Antoni de Montserrat de Casa Asia Award.
- Extremadura Economic Award from the COPE network.
- Latin American Special Award for Creativity and Innovation.
- Organization endorsed by the European Commission within the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009.
- Recognition for European best practice from the Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission, in the promotion of creativity in entrepreneurship.
